Leadership.
After graduating from the Infantry and Airborne schools at Fort Benning, Roy began his Army career with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), where he participated in rescue and recovery operations at the Pentagon beginning the night of September 11, 2001.
During his time with The Old Guard, he served as a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a member of the Presidential Marching Platoon, and the Continental Color Guard.
Roy then served three years as an Army Recruiter in San Diego before joining the 82nd Airborne Division, where he deployed to Iraq as a combat squad leader.
Throughout his military career, Roy graduated from the U.S. Army Pathfinder School, received the Distinguished Leadership Award at the Army's Primary Leadership Development Course, and was inducted into the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club in recognition of his leadership and commitment to serving others.
After twelve years on Active Duty, he transitioned to the Army Reserve to attend Texas A&M University, ultimately retiring after more than twenty-two years of military service.
While attending Texas A&M, Roy served as both a Junior and Senior Yell Leader for the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2015 and was honored with the Buck Weirus Spirit Award for his leadership and service to the university.
Service.
Roy also continues his commitment to service as the Commander of American Legion Aggieland Post 1938. He works alongside fellow veterans to support the local veteran community and uphold the Legion's mission of service, patriotism, and community involvement. He's also been a vocal supporter of the Never Forget Garden at Veteran's Park.
For the past fifteen years, Roy and his family have proudly called College Station home. During that time, he has owned and operated a local business and now serves the community as a REALTOR® with Bock Realty Group, helping families, veterans, landowners, and investors navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
Through his work, Roy has gained firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges facing homeowners, business owners, and the future growth of College Station.

Roy is running for City Council because he believes local government works best when leaders stay connected to the people they serve.
His experiences in the military, at Texas A&M, as a business owner, as a REALTOR®, and in veterans' leadership have reinforced one simple belief: leadership is about service.
When he's not working or serving the community, Roy enjoys golfing, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
